The trek from the family pool to the offices upstairs is one that I make many times on any given day at DHAC. As I make my way through the fitness center, it is rare that I ever see the cardio machines collecting dust.
Although I am a swimmer at heart, I have always been an avid running fan. I get my fair share of mileage in, whether it be on the treadmills at DHAC or out on the road. However, running never lets me forget the toll of high impact training. Fortunately, swimming serves as a great recovery workout. Being a swim coach and swim instructor, I am constantly in the water reaping the benefits of swimming. Also, the overall cardio impact from my time in the pool helps me avoid the huffing and puffing when it comes to running.
